The BRICS International Municipal Forum is an important platform for sharing practices and ideas between members of regional and municipal administrations of BRICS member states and for building effective business communication with entrepreneurs from Russia and other partner states.
The event is held with support of the Presidential Administration and the Russian Foreign Ministry and with assistance of Rossotrudnichestvo and the Moscow Government.
On the orders from Russian Presidential Advisor Yury Ushakov, the BRICS International Municipal Forum was included in the plan of events of the Russian presidency of BRICS in 2024 (Clause 147).
In 2022, the BRICS International Municipal Forum was included in the Beijing Declaration of the 14th BRICS summit (Clause 70) and designated as a significant mechanism promoting the development of cities and relations between sister cities in BRICS members in the period until 2030 as part of the Sustainable Development Agenda.
