Foreign students of Russian higher educational establishments with state accreditation have been allowed working in the Russian Federation without a permit; however, the problem of employment of foreign students has not been fully solved.
According to a poll of 237 respondents conducted by the International Employer Club in 2022, over 81% of foreign students said they were experiencing problems with employment in Russia. Reasons for that situation include employers’ reluctance to hire foreign citizens despite diplomas from Russian higher educational establishments, language difficulties, low salaries, and the impossibility to combine work with school.
A worthy alternative to the employment of foreign students in Russian companies is the business career track with tools Russia and Moscow use to support young people wishing to try their hand in business.
Organizing this area of work with foreign students of Moscow higher educational establishments also has a potential in terms of the development of entrepreneurship in Moscow and strengthening of international economic relations, however, specific features of the target audience and the elaboration of unique educational projects have to be kept in mind,
Programs of the kind should prepare foreign graduates for work as communicators and ambassadors promoting Moscow companies on foreign markets and facilitating international development of small and medium companies.
